School Bus Blues
Dylan HATES getting on the bus and cried a lot both times so far. I have to push him on and then walk away fast. He likes it once he gets moving though, and likes his school. Any ideas to make the morning less traumatic? We made him a bus chart this morning that he can put stickers on and will get a reward at the end of the week, if he does good. Maybe that will work?

I like the idea with the bus chart and rewards. Is it to noisy for him or scary or does is he just sad to leave you do you think?
Jane starts the first week in September and is SOOO excited. I don't think she'll have any problems with the bus- I hope...
Good luck!
I can't believe Dylan has started school! Did you end up putting him in the GATE program? Abby starts next week and was really apprehensive until she met her teacher and saw her classroom yesterday.
As for the school bus thing that is tricky. The chart is a great idea. Another thing you might try though I don't know if it will help or not is to read the book "The Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn. It is about a raccoon leaving his Mom on the first day of school and how she helps him not to be scared by showing him the kissing hand. I will give this warning it WILL make you cry! (I do every time I read it) I wish you were close enough I could just loan it to you. Maybe you can find it at the library. Best of Luck!
